The Marine and His Queen (part 3)
It may not have been the great American love story, but it was a story none the less and it worked for them. At some point between the first night and the eviction notice, infatuation became adoration and job descriptions were released. John worked his odd hours, laying copper pipe in houses he swore to one day live in, and Olga would spend the day becoming American. They supported one another, recognizing that each completely accepted the other. On their last night together in the tiny room, you could hear them singing Unchained Melody and narrating the many ways in which they made love.
